The department of fashion technology focus to train human resource in the field of “Ready Made Garments” industry. The course impart skills related to garment export houses/ buying houses. The students can explore their career as Garment Merchandiser, Quality Assurance Expert, Fabric Source Expert, Production Supervisor, Sampling Coordinator and related roles in the fashion industry.
Department of Fashion Technology
The department of Fashion Technology offers a three year diploma course based on semester system established in 2007. The department is well equipped with labs and dedicated staff members.
Program Overview
Govt. Polytechnic, Hisar offers 3 year Diploma programme in Fashion Design and Fashion Technology. The various subjects taught under Fashion Design and Fashion Tech programme are science of fabric production, selection, garment designing, fashion illustration, grading, pattern making, accessory designing, garment production, garment quality control, CAD, merchandising and retailing, history of Indian costumes, world costumes, traditional Indian embroideries, entrepreneurship, etc. Additionally, an In-plant training of one month has been an integral part of the course requirement designed to provide exposure about actual work environment in industry/export house/fashion organization amongst students. These groomed, skilled and trained students would be an asset to any relevant industry. During the fashion design and fashion technology course, students also learn to organize exhibitions for the sale of self designed handicraft products as well as accessories and fashion shows for showcasing their talents. This will help to encourage students to start their own entrepreneurship.
